Equilibrium of Powers

Equilibrium of Powers is the most ambitious and symbolic work by Alicja Stańsk - a life-sized sculpture inspired by haute couture, hand-embroidered with over 110,000 Swarovski crystals. This exceptional piece marks the beginning of the artist’s monumental twelve-year project: a cycle of seven sculptural creations that merge art, technology, and craftsmanship at the highest level.

First unveiled during Milan Fashion Week in 2023, Equilibrium of Powers transcends traditional categories - it is simultaneously sculpture and installation, couture and concept. Set upon a rotating arch reminiscent of a music box, it evokes a sense of timelessness and emotional intimacy. At its core lies a unique technological feature: a device that synchronizes the sculpture with the heartbeat of its first collector, making the work one-of-a-kind and symbolically “alive.”

In 2024, Equilibrium of Powers inaugurated the new and prestigious Masterpiece section at GemGenève – a space dedicated to the highest caliber of artistic craftsmanship and extraordinary creations at the intersection of art and high jewelry.

The work took over three years to complete and was crafted without the use of 3D printing – staying true to traditional materials and haute couture techniques: silk foundations, hand embroidery, and a meticulously constructed form. Weighing over 340 kilograms, this sculpture embodies dedication, artistry, and a profound reflection on the relationship between humanity and art.

As the first in a limited series of seven jeweled creations, Equilibrium of Powers is not only a work of art – it is the beginning of a story and a legacy that will unfold over the coming years.
